Gosden sprinter looks to be primed for finale

The final race of the day is another one for the speedsters and pits a number of in-form and improving three-year-olds against one another.

The lightly-raced Nobly Born has some strong form in the book despite only winning once, including a second in a Listed event. John Gosden's sprinter will be ridden by European captain Adrie de Vries and will be vying for favouritism with Kevin Ryan's Lualiwa.

Trio on the comeback

Repton, Bohemian Flame and Belle Meade have all been off the track for over 300 days and are unraced since their juvenile days. A market check may be wise to help work out just what they have been showing at home.

Stamina needed

Ascot's sprints are notoriously stiff and the 6f can prove the undoing of some sprinters. Six of the field have already run over 7f in their careers suggesting the trip should be no issue. Only Nobly Born, Megan Lily, Goodwood Crusader and Bohemian Flame have not raced at 7f prior to this.

Teamwork

The girls team may feel slightly hard done by being drawn on three of the outsiders - in Private Matter, Smokey Lane and Repton - but they are drawn in stalls 8,9 and 12 and, with a bit of teamwork, could well help set the race up for one of the trio.

Kevin Ryan, trainer of Lualiwa
He's very consistent and has kept on improving through his racing. We've dropped him down to 6f but the stiff six at Ascot should really suit him.

Andrew Balding, trainer of Belle Meade and Bohemian Flame
They are both in a very similar position having been off the track for close to a year but are both very capable, talented horses. They both raced in strong juvenile races and Bohemian Flame managed a place in a Listed race.

Chris Richardson, managing director of Cheveley Park Stud, owners of Nobly Born and Private Matter
They're both in good form and Nobly Born would be carrying our first colours if that was the case. Nobly Born ran a good race at Newmarket last time and we're happy with him. Private Matter looks a little high in the handicap, but he's well so he'll run and we'll see how it goes.

Richard Hannon, trainer of Repton
He has had a few niggling issues this year but he's back and ready to go. His work has been solid and I'm hopeful he can run a nice race. He will come on for the run but as long as he's hitting the line I will be happy.

Richard Fahey, trainer of Megan Lily and Private Matter
I have two in the race, but we're not sure about the trip for Megan Lily. Due the soft ground we'll give it a go though. Private Matter has run better than the results suggest and should run another decent race.
