Is there another Lah Ti Dar in the Galtres? Gosden certainly hopes so

British EBF & Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes (Listed) | 1m4f | 3yo+ fillies and mares | RTV
Day two of the Ebor festival marks seven years to the day since Frankel dazzled on the Knavesmire with victory in the Juddmonte International and his trainer Sir Henry Cecil is remembered in the Listed Galtres Stakes.
John Gosden landed this £70,000 event with subsequent St Leger second Lah Ti Dar last year and bids to repeat the feat with Hameem or Shambolic.
Hameem, ridden by Jim Crowley, routed a fillies’ handicap at Kempton last time but disappointed in her sole start in Listed company, while Shambolic has been running consistently well at this level and is the mount of Frankie Dettori.
Gosden said: “Shambolic and Hameem deserve to take their chances in what is always a lovely race.
“It looks a good opportunity for both to earn some black type.”
The Eve Johnson Houghton-trained Bella Vita finished one place in front of Shambolic on her first crack at Listed level when second to subsequent Prix de Pomone runner-up Love So Deep in the Chalice Stakes at Newmarket.
That was a career-best effort from the extremely progressive three-year-old, who has won on her four other starts this campaign.
Johnson Houghton said: “Her Newmarket form has been franked and she should have a good each-way chance.
“She's remarkable as she's nothing to look at but her work just continues to improve and she's getting better and stronger with age. She loves her racing.”
Aidan O’Brien saddles Frosty in his bid to win this race for the first time.
O’Brien said: “She had her first run of the year at Gowran Park when fourth last week and we were very pleased with her. She should improve for that and seems in good form.”
