Josephine Gordon achieves another landmark in her stellar career in this £100,000 contest as she takes her first ride for John Gosden on the returning Hyde Park.

Victory on the three-year-old would also be the first for last year's champion apprentice in the colours of Khalid Abdullah after three near misses in the famous pink and green silks.

Gosden, who is two jockeys down with Rab Havlin and Nicky Mackay sidelined, has turned to Gordon, whom he rates highly.

He said: "Josephine rides very well from what I've seen of her and hopefully she and Hyde Park can get on well together."

Opportunity knocks

In what is arguably the least high-profile race in the calendar boasting a six-figure prize fund, four of the 12 declared runners are running from out of the handicap.

He ran very well in the 2.000 Guineas to be seventh and would have been a lot closer if he'd not missed the break. If he jumps out of the stalls on terms he must have a great chance.

There are only eight in the handicap and we've got three of them. I've been looking forward to Sutter County stepping up to seven furlongs as he's been crying out for it. The Jersey Stakes is the dream for him. Aardwolf won well at Doncaster and will find the trip and ground no problem. He has a nice weight and should go well. Town Charter was a nice horse last year. He had a few issues through the winter which is why he's not come out until now, but the 5lb claim means he's got only 7st 9lb and he'll think he's loose.

He didn't run that well on the all-weather at Newcastle last time but may do better back on grass. He has a decent draw and could nick a place.

He wasn't right in the spring but is on his way back and this looks the right race to start him off in.

He's progressed nicely this spring and I think he'll improve again returned to turf. Bar a potentially tricky draw in stall 12, he looks to tick all the boxes.

David Simcock, trainer of Bless Him
He works like a good horse at home and if he carries that to the track he'd have a great chance.

She's 5lb out of the handicap but it's a £100,000 race and she'll be suited by the step up to seven furlongs.

Andrew Balding, trainer of Rely On Me
She's out of the handicap and ideally wants give in the ground but they've not got any rain forecast so I think it's unlikely she'll run.
