Al Dancer has stengthened his position at the head of the Caspain Caviar Gold Cup market and is now as short 9-2 (from 7s) to land the £105,000 handicap.

The seven-year-old was third behind Coole Cody in Paddy Power Gold Cup when last seen and is looking to give trainer Nigerl Twiston-Davies a first win the race since 2013.

The Twiston-Davies-trained Good Boy Bobby has also come in for support this morning and is now a general 8-1 shot (from 12).

The six-year-old was 15 lengths behind the reopposing Mister Tommytucker at Haydock last month but will saddle 11lb less than that rival. Master Tommytucker is the general 7-1 second favourite.

Another to come in for support has been Southfield Stone, who has been backed into as short as 14-1 with some firms after opening at 25-1 yesterday.

In the Close Brothers Mares' Handicap (3.35), Eglantine Du Seuil has been backed into 9-2 (from 12s) as she looks to secure a first victory for new trainer Paul Nicholls.

Goshen remains the solid 7-4 favourite for the Unibet International Hurdle (3.00), while Chantry House is the 4-7 favourite to follow up his excellent chasing debut last month in the 2m4½f novice chase (12.40).

The going at Cheltenham is soft on both the hurdles and chase courses, with sunny spells and temperatures of 9C expected this afternoon.
