Francis Of Assisi will face eight rivals under Kerrin McEvoy when he contests Wednesday's Bendigo Cup for trainer Charlie Appleby.

The Godolphin six-year-old has been working with Caulfield Cup runner-up Scottish during his time at the Werribee training centre. Like Qewy, who McEvoy steered to victory in the Geelong Cup last week, Francis Of Assisi is back on the Flat having had a spell over obstacles with John Ferguson and Ferguson's son James is hopeful the gelding can be competitive.
