Donald McCain back in action at Musselburgh as Verdana Blue heads to Kempton
Two jumps meetings headline this afternoon's action with racing at Wincanton and Musselburgh.
The Somerset track hosts an attractive eight-race card headlined by the £13,900 2m4f handicap chase (2.50) in which owner-rider David Maxwell will partner the consistent seven-year-old Chef D'Equipe.
North of the border, Musselburgh's seven races feature the return of Donald McCain-trained runners to the track, following the conclusion of the trainer's equine flu quarantine.
Afternoon and evening morsels are on the menu for Flat fans, with action coming from Southwell before Kempton takes the reigns for eight races under the lights, during which Verdana Blue will doubtless be the main attraction (6.30).

Final thought
The return of the Donald McCain string to British courses means the equine flu crisis should be very much behind him. McCain is double-handed at Musselburgh, first by Henry's Joy in the 2m7f novice handicap chase (3.45) and followed by The Character in the 2m handicap hurdle (4.20).
