Geraghty back in action for O'Neill and McManus

Barry Geraghty returns to the riding ranks on Friday at Newton Abbot in the familiar green and gold silks of his employer JP McManus, with the former Irish champion jockey partnering Milan Bound for Jonjo O'Neill.

The 37-year-old has taken longer than expected to recover from a double fracture to his right humerus, sustained in a crashing fall at the final fence in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen in July, but on Thursday he said he was feeling good ahead of his return.

"It's great to be back, I've been looking forward to this," he said. "I've been riding out on and off for the last three weeks – it has taken its time to loosen up but everything's feeling good now and the day before yesterday I went into Gordon Elliott's and schooled a good few over fences and hurdles."
