Three horses suited by drying conditions on the final day at Royal Ascot
The ground at Ascot has improved to good on the straight course and good to soft, good in places on the round course overnight. Here are three horses who will be suited by drying conditions on the final day of the royal meeting.
Sharing (2.25 Ascot)
Sharing was a winner on firm ground in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf last year so a sound surface is certainly in her favour in the Coronation Stakes.
The US contender, trained by Graham Motion, returned with a half-length victory in the Tepin Stakes at Churchill Downs last month and is ridden by champion jockey Oisin Murphy.
Khaadem (3.35 Ascot)
The Charlie Hills-trained sprinter does have winning form on good to soft but was at his blistering best on good to firm when routing the Unibet Stewards' Cup field at Glorious Goodwood last year.
Khaadem bids to cap a tremendous week for jockey Jim Crowley, who has enjoyed six winners across the first four days.
Battaash's stablemate is drawn in stall ten in the Diamond Jubilee and open to improvement after nine starts.
Spanish City (4.10 Ascot)
Spanish City is a regular in big handicaps and drying ground will aid his chances in the Wokingham.
The seven-year-old ran to a career-best Racing Post Rating of 104 when second on good ground at Newmarket on his final start last term.
Atzeni's mount, trained by Roger Varian, is winless in four starts at Ascot but has not ran a bad race at the Berkshire track and has solid each-way claims from stall 19.
