I hope you read this page yesterday and took my advice about Firey Speech who I put forward as our best chance of the day in the 7f nursery and he duly obliged in good style under Pat [Smullen]. He is a lovely colt and, just like when he won his maiden at Naas, he battled bravely and won going away. He could have a bright future.
It has been an up and down week for us and we hit the crossbar more times than I care to remember but, most of the horses that we thought would run well, did run well. We had a super spring and it has been a superb summer to date so, by the time Galway came along, most of our ammunition had been used up.
It would be great to end the week on a high today and I think we can with First Figaro in the last of the 52 races this week, the 2m bumper (6.00).
