So Mi Dar to miss Brigadier Gerard and wait for Ascot
Sandown's evening meeting lost one of its star names on Thursday morning when John Gosden ruled So Mi Dar out of the feature Brigadier Gerard Stakes.
After missing her intended engagement at York in the Middleton Stakes, connections are now going to wait until Royal Ascot to see her back on the track.
Gosden said: "It's very frustrating. We can't run her as her muscle enzymes are too high. We had her ready for York and now we can't run at Sandown. We'll be patient and take her straight to Royal Ascot."
The royal meeting will be the plan for the majority of the two-year-olds contesting the National Stakes as they tackle the flying five furlongs down the middle of the course before the stayers take centre stage in the Henry II Stakes.
Steel Of Madrid and Chain Of Daisies are set to take on five in the Brigadier Gerard, a race which has been won by the likes of Workforce and Mukhadram in recent years.
Goodwood also stages a quality meeting with the Height Of Fashion Stakes the highlight, as Mori, the Frankel filly out of Midday, takes on fellow Juddmonte-bred Icespire.
Elsewhere in the country there is action over jumps at Warwick and Flat racing also takes place at Chelmsford and Catterick, plus Tipperary hosts a mixed card.
