Fellowes bids to be first British trainer to land Miesque with Show
Charlie Fellowes bids for a first Group-race success with Moonlit Show in the Prix Miesque (1.20) at Maisons-Laffitte on Tuesday - a race British raiders have failed to win since its inauguration in 2001.
Former trainer Paul Blockley and Robert Cowell saddled Lady Deauville and Absolute Music to finish second in 2007 and 2009 respectively, with French-trained horses winning 14 of the 15 runnings.
Fellowes enjoyed a first Listed victory with the daughter of Showcasing in the Blenheim Stakes at Fairyhouse in September, with Billy Lee, who rode a fine race from the front that day, again partnering the Peter O'Callaghan-owned two-year-old in this Group 3 contest.
