Big Irish gamble as Hurricane Sky is backed into 11-1 from 40s at Navan
There is a big gamble brewing at Navan where the JP McManus-owned Hurricane Sky has been backed into 11-1 from 40-1 this morning.
Trained by Charles O'Brien, the 12-year-old failed to spark in two starts since a 517-day break but there is clearly confidence more is expected in this 1m5f handicap.
Fancy Man is being backed ahead of his clash with Derby hope John Leeper in the Fairway Stakes (2.05) at Newmarket.
The son of Pride Of Dubai beat subsequent Classic Trial winner Alenquer at Haydock last season and is now a general 15-8 shot (from 2-1) to get snare the Listed prize.
Fancy Man has joined John Leeper as favourite with some firms, with the connections of the latter hoping he can affirm his Cazoo Derby credentials.
