Fahey double-handed in valuable Chantilly Listed prize
Richard Fahey is doubly represented in the Listed Prix Herod at Chantilly on Tuesday and has Christophe Soumillon and Thierry Jarnet on his side in the 7f juvenile contest.
Fahey is represented by Re Run and Mums The Word, who travel from North Yorkshire to France. Re Run, the mount of Soumillon, was second at Newcastle last month on his second start, while Mums The Word was runner-up at Salisbury on what was her sixth outing for previous trainer Richard Hannon.
The maiden stablemates feature among a field of ten in a race which has a first prize of €32,500.
Fahey said: “Christophe and Thierry both rang up for the rides and it's great to have them on your side at a course they both know very well.
“Re Run has had only a couple of runs but he's been a bit disappointing because he shows plenty at home. We still like the horse and he'll be wearing a visor for the first time in the hope it helps him a bit.
“Mums The Word has been at the yard for only a short time as she was bought at the horses in training sale last month. We're still finding out about her but her owners want to run so she'll be taking her chance.”
