Leopardstown: Saturday

Goodie Two Shoes will need to be on her best behaviour to extend her winning sequence to three as the unbeaten filly steps into stakes company for the first time in the Listed Trigo Stakes (4.20) at Leopardstown.

Three-year-olds have a terrific record in the race, having won seven of the last eight runnings, and Goodie Two Shoes has emerged from nowhere to be one of the most promising fillies from the Classic generation this season.

She only made her debut at Killarney in May, but she created quite an impression having missed the break due to getting hit in the face by the stalls as they opened. She still managed to win by almost five lengths and followed it up two months later with a stylish success in a conditions race at Punchestown,

The winning distance was only a half-length there but Declan McDonogh always looked to have matters under control at the business end and she scored more than a shade snugly at the line. It would be surprising if the reopposing Monaasib reversed that form here and Joseph O'Brien is expecting another bold showing.

He said: "Goodie Two Shoes is stepping into stakes company for the first time. It would be great if she could get some black type and we're hoping for a good run from her."

The trainer is also represented by Neptune Rock, who surged late to land the Listed Listowel Stakes last time.

O'Brien said: "Neptune Rock won nicely the last day. She needs the right set up to be seen to best effect but hopefully she gets that. If she does, she'll go well."

Last year's winner Georgeville is back to defend his crown, while the 110-rated Aikhal is the best horse in the race according to the handicapper.

The Group 3 Killavullan Stakes (3.45) has been a stepping stone to stardom in recent years as subsequent Qipco 2,000 Guineas winner Poetic Flare won it in 2020.

Whether or not there is another Classic winner in the line-up this year is debatable, but the Jessica Harrington-trained Bold Discovery did make quite a favourable impression when winning on debut at Naas last month.

Joseph O'Brien is responsible for the 98-rated Lakota Seven who will be more at home over this trip according to the trainer.

He said: "Lakota Seven drops back to 7f and we think it'll suit him. He'll handle the bit of juice in the ground and we're very pleased with the way he's been training since his run the last day."
