Envoi Allen out to prove doubters wrong after a sobering spring nobody predicted

The harder they come, the harder they fall. It seemed as though the world was Envoi Allen's oyster before a spring reckoning that nobody could have envisaged.

In the space of a couple of months, he went from jump racing's unbeaten wonderkid – touted by some to be the next Arkle or Dawn Run – to failing to complete in two festival outings.

On Saturday, he returns with a point to prove and, on ratings, the Grade 2 Join Racing TV Chase (3.25) at Down Royal looks an ideal opportunity for him to get his campaign off to a winning start.
