Punters side with Elarqam as Crystal Ocean drifts to 11-8 for International
Juddmonte International favourite Crystal Ocean has drifted out to 11-8 for Wednesday's red-hot Group 1 feature with punters backing York Stakes winner Elarqam who is now no bigger than 7-1 from a morning price of 11-1.
Crystal Ocean has drifted out from his morning price of 11-10, although he is rated 9lb ahead of Mark Johnston's runner. But the popular Elarqam has strong claims on the form of his impressive course and distance win and continues to shorten.
All nine runners are set to take their chance in the Juddmonte International, but Cobra Eye has been ruled out of the Acomb Stakes due to a cut leg (2.25) and there are two non-runners in the nursery (4.50) at the end of the card.
The Ray Gilpin award for top jockey at the meeting was won by Oisin Murphy last year, who struck with four winners across the four days. Murphy edged out Frankie Dettori on countback, but Dettori has a stellar book of rides including Enable, Logician and Stradivarius this time around and appears the one to beat.
