Early Morning gives Turner her biggest buzz in years

Hayley Turner gave the crowd just what many of them craved when scoring a half-length win on 6-1 chance Early Morning in the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Mile.

But despite enjoying her biggest buzz since landing the July Cup on Dream Ahead five years ago she insisted that she will not be returning to the saddle full time.

Turner retired last year but was enticed back as a replacement for Melbourne Cup-winning rider Michelle Payne in the event she enjoys above all others. She had worked hard on her fitness but she had gone nine rides without a win until scoring on the Harry Dunlop grey - an effort which perversely earned her both the Ride of the Day award and a four-day whip ban.
