Connections on their chances of winning the big handicap
Amix Silver Bowl Handicap | 1m | ITV4/RUK
Charlie Johnston, assistant to Mark Johnston, trainer of Masham Star, Rusumaat and Mailshot
Trip, track and conditions are perfect for all three. Masham Star ran well at Chester and then got hampered at a crucial stage at Newmarket last weekend. I wouldn't be surprised to see him run a good race. Rusumaat has been in very good form. We have the Britannia in mind for him so this is the obvious stepping stone. I'd expect him to be bang there. Mailshot has been a bit more in and out and the best of his form is on the all-weather, but he should be fine on good, fast ground and he'd have an each-way chance.
Marco Botti, trainer of Indian Dandy
He's up in class but he's been in good form at home since winning at Yarmouth and deserves to take his chance in a better race. He has a good each-way chance.
Clive Cox, trainer of Graphite Storm
It was a good run at Ascot, where he was unlucky not to win. He won't mind any rain and he's gone up only a couple of pounds.
Richard Fahey, trainer of Cullingworth and Society Red
On a good day Cullingworth would have a small chance. I thought Society Red ran okay the other day and we'll see how he gets on dropped back to a mile.
Hughie Morrison, trainer of Private Mission
I wouldn't want too many showers and I hope he'll get the mile but Haydock can be a trappy place. He's drawn ten and it's a round mile with a long bend; if you're taken wide the whole way you can be in trouble.
Michael Bell, trainer of Fire Brigade
He's a progressive horse who won well at Newmarket last week, when the first two pulled nicely clear. He's at the right end of the handicap and any rain would be appreciated.
