Donnacha O'Brien will be the only new recipient when the awards for the different Flat champions are presented at the final meeting of the Irish season at Leopardstown today.

O'Brien, 18, is champion apprentice for the first time. Not only that, but he enjoyed his first Group 1 success when riding Intricately, trained by his brother, Joseph, to victory in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh last month. He will ride the same filly in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita next weekend.

Pat Smullen will be champion jockey for the ninth time having enjoyed his best ever season in terms of winners while Aidan O'Brien is again champion trainer. He has topped the list every year since 1998.
