Dark Vision and Jonah Jones the big market movers on day three of Ebor festival
The Ebor festival rolls on at York with three Group races to sink your teeth into, headed by a much-anticipated clash between Battaash and Ten Sovereigns in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes (3.35).
Stradivarius bids to land the sponsor's £1 million bonus for the second year in a row in the Lonsdale Cup (2.25) and top juveniles stake their claim in the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Gimcrack Stakes (3.00).
Market movers
Caradoc 1.55 York 11-2 (from 15-2)
A winner at Windsor on good to firm ground last time, Caradoc steps up to 1m4f for the first time but is 1lb well in under his penalty. In the same race, Mandarin is 7-1 from 10-1.
Il Paradiso 2.25 York 22-1 (from 33)
He is taking on the very best in the division for Aidan O'Brien but is unexposed as a stayer – it would take a massive performance.
Dubai Mirage 4.15 York 11-4 (from 4)
The son of Dubawi was only beaten a nose on his debut for Saeed bin Suroor at Sandown this month and once again benefits from the services of leading jockey Oisin Murphy.
Dark Vision 4.50 York 5-1 (from 10)
Has not got his nose in front since winning the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood last year but his penultimate run, when fourth in a 14-runner handicap at Newmarket, was encouraging. There has been another major move in the race for Jonah Jones, who is as short as 12-1 despite being available at 40-1 last night.
