Charlie Hills, out to snare a big sprint prize with Cotai Glory in Sunday's Prix de l'Abbaye, aims to land the final of Nottingham's Jockey Club Grassroots Series with Frenchman, but – as for his Chantilly-bound challenger – the Lambourn trainer is keen for conditions to be quick.

Owned by a branch of Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds, Frenchman has been campaigned mainly over seven furlongs, but Hills has settled on six to bring out the best in the three-year-old.
