Aidan O'Brien is taking the same path with Clemmie as he did with last year's winner Roly Poly in a bid to land the first Group test on Gentlemen's Day for the third time.

The daughter of Galileo got off the mark at the third time of asking when scoring in the Group 3 Grangecon Stud Stakes at the Curragh 12 days ago just like her predecessor who has since finished runner-up at Group 1 level on three occasions.

Clemmie looks on an upward curve having previously finished seventh in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot but she will have to be as she needs to turn the tables on James Given's Mistress Of Venice who was three places ahead of her in fourth despite being sent off at odds of 66-1.

Given is not afraid of taking on Clemmie again and the form of the other opposition is also linked to Royal Ascot, notably likely favourite Nyaleti, who served it up to O'Brien's smart prospect September before weakening to finish second in the Chesham Stakes

Given said: "Mistress Of Venice has improved physically and has all the attributes. We've already beaten Clemmie once so we're hopeful we can do it again."

Dropping in trip, Nyaleti looks sure to make the running again for Mark Johnston, who won the race with the mighty Attraction in 2003.

Ascot reruns

As well as the Albany and Chesham, the Queen Mary form also comes under the microscope chiefly by way of third-placed Out Of The Flames, trained by Richard Hannon, Darkanna (seventh) and Chica La Habana (21st).

Hannon knows what it takes to land this having struck with Illuminate two years ago after she had won the Albany Stakes.

Elsworth again ?

David Elsworth won this with the classy Arabian Queen in 2014 and hopes to keep it in the family with her sister Cosmopolitan Queen, who chased home the smart Encrypted on the all-weather at Kempton last time.

What they say

Robert Cowell, trainer of Chica La Habana
The Queen Mary may have come a bit quick after her previous win at Beverley which is why she may have run a bit below par. Also it was completely different ground at Ascot.

Aidan O'Brien, trainer of Clemmie
She won her maiden nicely at the Curragh last time. We haven't done a lot with her since but she seems in good form and we think she's progressive.

Richard Fahey, trainer of Darkanna
She ran a nice race in the Queen Mary in a race a few of these ran in. She needs to step up on that but we're happy to take our chance. She stayed on well over five furlongs at Ascot so hopefully the six here will help her find a bit of improvement. If she places we'll be delighted.

James Given, trainer of Mistress Of Venice
We were delighted with her run when she was drawn on the wrong side in the Albany. If Take Me With You hadn't wandered about in front of her she may have finished third and she's not left an oat since.

Mark Johnston, trainer of Nyaleti
She set a fast and furious pace at Ascot and maybe if she hadn’t gone quite so quick she might have seen out the trip better. I certainly wouldn’t rule out running her over seven again in the future, but six furlongs does look to be ideal.

Richard Hannon, trainer of Out Of The Flames
She's a nice filly who has come out of her race at Ascot in good form. We had the options of going for a Listed race or a nicer contest at Windsor but we've decided to take our chance here.

Archie Watson, trainer of So Hi Society
She ran a good race when third in the Empress Stakes over course and distance last time when she travelled well for a long way. The rain they've had will help her and we expect her to run another nice race.
