Can he follow up his 125-1 winner? Nick Kent hoping for festive treat on ITV4
Catterick becomes the first track in Britain and Ireland to welcome a crowd over the festive period, with around 800 people attending the seven-race fixture, and it will have an armchair audience too, as the North Yorkshire venue enjoys terrestrial TV coverage for the first time in a decade.
It is a big day for Catterick and Lincolnshire trainer Nick Kent, who had a Boxing Day to remember with a 125-1 winner at Wetherby, is also hoping to put himself in the spotlight as he seeks a first success in front of the ITV4 cameras with favourite Mick Maestro (1.30) in Catterick's 2m handicap hurdle.
Former stable stalwart Gonalston Cloud landed the Lincolnshire National at Market Rasen on Boxing Day four years ago and it was new recruit Ballycallan Fame who notched a 23-length all-the-way win in the mares’ novice hurdle at Wetherby.
