Bryan Cooper and Jane Mangan give their views on the weekend's racing
Tom Collins, Graeme Rodway and Betfred's Andrew Griffiths also have their say
How do you see Saturday's big race, the Pierce Molony (3.10)?
Tom Collins, tipster There looks to be plenty of strength in depth in the race and the likes of Zero Ten and Dunvegan are sure to be well found in the market, but I quite like the prospects of Henry de Bromhead’s Capuccimix. This grey boasts an improving profile and has been beaten only by Cash Back (subsequent Grade 1 runner-up) and Chosen Mate (Grand Annual winner) in completed chase starts this season.
Bryan Cooper, jockey My lad [Dunvegan] ran well behind Cash Back last time, when he probably got a bit outpaced, and there probably isn’t a whole between a lot of them in this. He was impressive the time before at Punchestown and I think the step up to 2m2f should suit. From speaking with Pat [Fahy, trainer] and the owners, they seem to be very happy with him, so we’re hopeful.
Andrew Griffiths, Betfred It looks a hot race, with only 10lb separating the field on RPRs. Sizing Pottsie jumped like an old hand at Navan last time and is a worthy favourite to complete a hat-trick of wins over fences. Dallas des Pictons ran much better in first-time blinkers last time at Naas and a repeat performance would certainly put him in the mix here.
