Brits enter the lion's den at Punchestown despite Cheltenham Festival massacre

After a mauling at the Cheltenham Festival in March, you might think connections of British horses would be wary of stepping into the lion's den at Punchestown this week, but that is not necessarily the case and supporting evidence comes in Tuesday's William Hill Champion Chase with two of the seven-strong line-up making the journey over the Irish Sea.

And recent history dictates that Nube Negra and First Flow, second and sixth in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham, may have claims as the away team have claimed five of the last 12 runnings of the Grade 1, although the presence of Allaho, who produced a phenomenal performance in the Ryanair, and Chacun Pour Soi will not make things easy.
