The inaugural running of the Norfolk National took place at Fakenham last year with Dai Burchell's veteran Rebeccas Choice landing the spoils from Grove Silver and Morney Wing in a thrilling finish.

A field of ten will line-up in Tuesday's contest, including the Linda Jewell-trained Itoldyou, who finished second to Knight ofthe Realm in a 3m11/2f handicap chase at Fontwell last month.

Nigel Twiston-Davies runs Big Casino, a four-time winner over fences, who boasts winning form over this marathon trip having landed a 3m5f handicap chase at Warwick last month.

Keep an eye on veterans
Rebeccas Choice landed this race at the age of 13 in 2016 and while no 13 year old contests this year's renewal there are five horses aged between 11 and 12 - Big Casino, Carli King, Wiesentraum, Itoldyou and Railway Storm.

What they say

Ben Case, trainer of Themanfrom Minella
He's in good form and came out of his last race at Exeter well. I wish they'd had a little bit more rain but they're saying it's good ground. The trip suits him fine.

Nigel Twiston-Davies, trainer of Big Casino
He won last time out, this is a very different track but we're hoping for a big run from him. It's not such a big jumping test which will help him.

Paul Henderson, trainer of Talk Of The South
The trip will suit him and the race conditions last time out at Cheltenham didn't suit. He's still well in himself and in good form. He'll like the longer distance.

Linda Jewell, trainer of Itoldyou
Obviously the distance will suit him down to the ground and last time he ran a really good second at Fontwell where we thought he enjoyed the quick ground. He's in good form and he's been very unlucky as he's been running off big weights so the lighter weight and longer trip will suit him well.

Jimmy Frost, trainer of Railway Storm
He couldn't be happier in himself and that's why he's going all the way to Fakenham. He's had two attempts at the trip and seems to handle it so it shouldn't be a problem and he'll love the good ground.
