All you need for the day as the spotlight focuses on Aintree and France

New world record holder Aidan O'Brien takes his pursuit of Group 1 victories to France on Sunday, where he has a chance to add two more top-level wins.

O'Brien has four of the seven runners in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud and one in the Criterium International and there is British interest in both, as well as the Group 3 Prix Perth.

Closer to home there is a valuable card at Aintree where the Old Roan Chase has drawn a strong field featuring Tea For Two, Smad Place, Shantou Village and Third Intention, who is seeking his second win in the race.

There is more jumps action at Wincanton, Galway and Wexford.

What to back

Pricewise,Tom Segal, has recommendations from Aintree and France, while Graeme Rodway has dug out a fancy at Aintree in the ten- second tip.

What to read

Not surprisingly Aidan O'Brien's world record breaking day at Doncaster commands most attention and there is a fitting tribute from Racing Post Ireland editor Richard Forristal, while historian John Randall puts the Ballydoyle trainer's exceptional featinto some context.

What to watch

Saturday was a historic day from very early on as during our small hours Winx made history in Australia when winning a third Cox Plate, the mare's 22nd win in a row and 15th at Group 1 level. If you haven't watched it here is a chance to see how she did it again.

The best of Racing Post Sport

The Premier League action features the two clubs that lost their managers lately as Leicester welcome Everton. Mark Langdon cast his eye over the fixture and gives his verdict on who will emerge victorious from new Leicester manager Claude Puel's first game in charge.

Final thought

After finally getting past Bobby Frankel's mark Aidan O'Brien has a chance to make the record his own and with so many challengers running in next weekend's Breeders' Cup, a final tally of 30 or more has to be feasible.
