If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. The BHA and Wolverhampton are following that maxim after the all-weather meeting on Tuesday was called off because of conditions in the off-course area rather than the racing surface.

But the meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon and means all-weather fans have three meetings and more than seven hours of fun, stretching well into the evening at Kempton, where Saeed Bin Suroor and John Gosden send runners.

With Leicester and Hexham lost to the winter weather the only sight of turf will be at Happy Valley in Hong Kong from mid-morning.

However, the prospects for jump racing look good on Thursday, with no problems anticipated at Taunton – where the transferred Peterborough Chase will take place – while there was a positive update from Newcastle, where the track remains frozen places but conditions are improving and officials are "optimistic".

Following an initial look at 8am, officials at Warwick will inspect again at 4pm on Wednesday afternoon for Thursday's meeting.
