Lingfield starts on the all-weather today but don't be fooled – it is a jumps card just with a bumper beginning on the Polytrack.

Stonegate Homes sponsors Lingfield's card and director Jeremy Hinds is a member of the Galloping On The South Downs partnership which has two runners on the card who might be worth checking out.

Final thought

Has today's Lingfield sponsor's novel approach opened up a whole new opportunity for racecourses to attract paying guests? The Donncha Murphy Is Available Intermediate Handicap Chase is so named as Mr Murphy works for the sponsors and is looking for a girlfriend. Perhaps time for a bit of speed dating in the sponsors box or club restaurant?
