Last year's Group 1 Prix Morny winner Pretty Pollyanna will miss the 1,000 Guineas next weekend, it was confirmed on Saturday morning.

The Michael Bell-trained three-year-old failed to shine in her work over seven furlongs on the Watered Gallop, prompting the decision for connections to be patient with her.

Pretty Pollyanna was a leading juvenile last season, winning the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes before scoring at the top-level France. She was last seen finishing third in the Fillies' Mile.

The daughter of Oasis Dream was a general 16-1 chance for the Classic with Frankie Dettori booked, but her absence now leaves Dettori without a ride in the race.

Co-owner/breeder Tim Gredley said on Saturday morning: "We have decided to take her out of the 1,000 Guineas. We have to do what is right for the filly.

"She is a Group 1 winner from last year and hopefully she will come back later on."
