Police are investigating the shocking killing of Woolfall Treasure, a former dual-purpose performer for Gary Moore, in a field at the grey’s retirement home.

The 11-year-old gelding, who won eight of his 58 races during a racing career that ended in April 2013, was found dead on Friday afternoon in a field at Kemnal Manor Stables near Chislehurst, south-east London. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Justine Bowdery, who runs the livery yard, has offered a reward of £3,000 to help catch the killer of Woolfall Treasure, known as ‘Wolfie’ both at Kemnal Manor and at Moore’s yard in West Sussex, where there was shock and sadness at the death of a much-loved horse.
