Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault on a 30-year-old man outside Ascot racecourse on Saturday night.

According to Thames Valley Police, the victim was attacked by two men at approximately 9.30pm close to the ticket office, near the exit of the racecourse, with the victim taken to Frimley Park and Guildford Hospital with “serious” eye injuries. He has since been discharged.

Police say there is no indication at this time that any of the men involved had attended the track’s Shergar Cup meeting earlier in the day but have not ruled it out. An after-racing concert at the track had ended at 9pm.
