I definitely think there are many more positives than negatives to the one-meeting-per-day rule. I'm passionate about it and really believe it's a massive improvement. I'm also certain I could name 20 of the senior jockeys who would say exactly the same.

We need to see how the fixture list is going to look in the future but if we are guaranteed something like the number of races per card we're getting now, I know for a fact 99 per cent of jockeys would be more than happy to stick to a single meeting in a day.

I don't think this would have entered anybody's mind if we hadn't all spent three months locked up at home. The majority of people realised what we had been doing on a daily basis is absolutely crazy. It really has hit home. The old way isn't right any longer. There is absolutely no need for it. Times have changed and everything has moved on.
