Perfect day for a barbecue and getting lost in the maize

The race for the Stobart Jockeys' Championship has left Jim Crowley and Silvestre de Sousa with little or no free time in recent weeks, so the pair unsurprisingly made the most of a rare day off on Sunday.

Crowley leads De Sousa by three winners, with 109 on the board to the reigning champion's 106, but on his first day away from the racecourse since August 14 his thoughts could not have been further from his pursuit of a first title.

"I had a bit of a lie in this morning, which was a nice change," said Crowley. "My girls have gone off showjumping at Hickstead, so I've been looking after my young boy. We took him out on the combine this morning cutting the maize and have just been chilling out for the rest of the day.
