Paul Nicholls may be gearing up for another winter of intense jumps battles but before then he will attempt to beat the Flat trainers at their own game when Birds Of Prey becomes his first runner in the Marathonbet November Handicap at Doncaster on Saturday.

This season yielded a first for jumping giant Nicholls when Whataguy became his first ever two-year-old winner at Chepstow in May and he will now try to nail the final big prize of the Flat turf year.

Available at 20-1 earlier in the week, Birds Of Prey has halved in price for the end-of-season highlight at Town Moor and the ten-time champion jumps trainer is hopeful of a bold show having primed the four-year-old for the contest.
