Owner with major stake in Kemboy claims suspended Supreme Racing misled HRI

Star chaser Kemboy could be prevented from running for the foreseeable future after the Supreme Horse Racing Club was banned from making entries or declarations, with a major shareholder in the Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite also claiming the leading syndicate falsified information relating to his involvement in the horse.

Just one week out from Kemboy's intended seasonal reappearance at Down Royal it emerged Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) has suspended Supreme's ownership account, in effect putting a block on any horses running for an organisation that, helped by the work of champion trainer Willie Mullins, has become a major jumping force.

The club - set up by Steve Massey and Jim Balfry - faces allegations of financial wrongdoing from members, some of whom have been in contact with HRI and the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board for many months.
