'Our figures prove it's nonsense' - debunking an Aidan O'Brien Guineas myth
Aidan O’Brien goes into this weekend’s Guineas meeting at Newmarket in red-hot form. The Ballydoyle trainer is enjoying one of the most fruitful months of April of his career and many will see that as a positive for Luxembourg as he bids to win the opening Classic on his return.
One of the big question marks over Luxembourg going into the 2,000 Guineas is whether he will be fully revved up for this first run in 189 days, especially with the Derby still to come. He will surely need to be at his peak to cope with a race-fit Native Trail, and O’Brien’s hot recent run might be a pointer that he will be.
