It was certainly a strange chain of events that unfolded on Saturday. Stipendiary steward Simon Cowley had never seen a similar scenario in his 25 years in the job, which gives you an idea of just how rare an occurrence it was, and I thought his explanation delivered to camera on ITV Racing expertly and succinctly explained how the stewards had reached a decision.
