Harry Bentley: has some strong chances at York on Saturday
Harry Bentley: has some strong chances at York on Saturday

Trainer

The William Haggas team have been in exceptional form in the build-up to Royal Ascot but before then they have several runners to look forward to on Saturday.

The big name is Raheen House, the 2017 Bahrain Trophy winner, who makes his stable debut for the yard in the Sky Bet Race To The Ebor Grand Cup Stakes (3:00 York). Haggas also has solid chances in the big sprint handicap at York with Luxor and Victory Day (3.35) while he runs Cristal Breeze (4.25) and Two Bids (5.00) at Sandown.

Jockey

Harry Bentley enjoyed a double at Newbury on Thursday and he is another looking to sustain that momentum for the royal meeting. It could be a big day for Bentley as he partners Chester Cup winner Making Miracles in the Grand Cup Stakes.

He also has strong chances with Blizzard (2.25), Dave Dexter (3.35) and Black Isle Boy (5.15) in the supporting contests.

Horse

Waldgeist's half-brother Waldstern could develop into a smart three-year-old this season as he begins his season at Chester (2.40).

The son of Sea The Stars has not been seen since finishing fourth in the Zetland Stakes at Newmarket but is still open to plenty of improvement after only three career starts.

Race

The Randox Health Scurry Stakes at Sandown (2.05) has been a stepping stone for progressive young sprinters before going on to Group 1 level.

Margot Did (2011) and Battaash (2017) both won this contest and this year's field includes some potentially smart types including Leodis Dream, Well Done Fox and Street Parade.
