One trainer, one jockey, one horse and one race to watch on Saturday

Trainer

Having won with ten of his last 42 runners, Ralph Beckett's string are to be feared more than ever at present. The Hampshire-based trainer is under £200,000 away from his best ever season in terms of prize-money and he has several big chances on Saturday.

His runners across the ITV races are Speycaster in the Get Daily Rewards With Betfair Handicap (2.20) at Haydock and Star Of Orion in the National Racehorse Week Handicap (3.10) at Ascot. The latter went close at Newmarket last time off 1lb lower and currently sits on his last winning rating.

Jockey

Jim Crowley has been quietly having a very strong campaign and Saturday could be another blockbuster day for the rider of the world's highest-rated racehorse, Baaeed.

Crowley has huge chances in the two big races at Haydock including Minzaal in the Sprint Cup (3.30). The Owen Burrows-trained four-year-old won the Hackwood at Newbury two starts ago and turned in a career-best effort to finish second in the Prix Maurice de Gheest in France last time, form that has been franked by the winner Highfield Princess subsequently winning the Nunthorpe.

He also has excellent claims aboard the Royal Hunt Cup winner Dark Shift in the Group 3 Best Odds On The Betfair Exchange Superior Mile Stakes (1.45) earlier on the card. His latest second off a big weight in another Ascot handicap suggested he was ready for the step up in grade. Crowley also rides Reshoun (2.55) on Saturday's premier card.

Horse

Emaraaty Anagot up in the nick of time to deny Starman in last year's Sprint Cup (3.30) and he will be bidding to repeat the feat for jockey Andrea Atzeni and trainer Kevin Ryan.

He arrived 12 months ago on the back of a great second in the Nunthorpe at York and connections have gone the same route, with the six-year-old finishing third to Highfield Princess last month. The pace of the race held up that day and his effort can be upgraded, as he did comfortably best of those held up.

Andrea Atzeni is one of several jockeys in excellent form at present, boasting a 24 per cent strike-rate from his last 37 rides, and a 17-runner burn-up should be right up his partner's alley.

Race

Speaking of that burn up, the Sprint Cup (3.30) promises to be an incredible spectacle.

A maximum field has been attracted for this year's running, including Platinum Jubilee winner Naval Crown and the consistent Art Power, both of whom will be favoured by a pace that will not let up throughout the journey.

Last year's winner Emaraaty Ana and the improving Minzaal help to build an A-list cast, which also features the ever-popular gelding Rohaan and the unexposed Brad The Brief, who was last seen winning a Group 2 at the Curragh in May.
