No Presenting Percy as star-studded field of 11 is confirmed for King George
Presenting Percy will miss the 32Red King George VI Chase at Kempton on Wednesday after connections decided against supplementing the Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite for the Christmas highlight.
Trainer Pat Kelly and owner Phillip Reynolds had been contemplating stumping up the £10,000 fee, but Presenting Percy did not appear among the 11 six-day confirmations on Thursday.
Brilliant two-miler Altior was among those taken out of the Christmas showpiece, with Nicky Henderson set to rely on last year's winner and ante-post favourite Might Bite.
Betfair Chase winner Bristol De Mai is still on course for the race, as are the Colin Tizzard-trained pair Native River and Thistlecrack, who finished second and third at Haydock.
Waiting Patiently, off the track since winning the Ascot Chase in February, and the Paul Nicholls-trained pair Politologue and Clan Des Obeaux are other notable contenders.
In the absence of Presenting Percy, Shattered Love is the sole representative from Ireland and also the only mare left in.
Double Shuffle and Tea For Two, second and third 12 months ago, complete the list of possibles alongside 2015 Gold Cup hero Coneygree.
The same card's 32Red Kauto Star Novices' Chase and Unibet Christmas Hurdle have been reopened after receiving six and eight entries.
