Officials at Yarmouth say the problem with the racing surface which blighted last month's festival meeting has been resolved ahead of Monday's fixture.

A wet patch, later blamed on a leaking irrigation pipe from the adjacent golf course, necessitated an inspection before racing, which led to the cancellation of the two 5f handicaps scheduled during the three-day meeting.

Connections of the 14 runners involved in the cancelled race on the opening day were each paid £250 by Arena Racing Company, which operates the course.
