Katie Walsh headed for Australia last night hoping to emulate her brother Ruby by winning the Grand National Steeplechase at Ballarat, Victoria, on Saturday.

Speaking yesterday, Walsh said: "I'm going to ride I'll'ava'alf for trainer Patrick Ryan in the Grand National. He won a big race – the Crisp Steeplechase – on his most recent start and is one of the big fancies.

"Ruby won the race on Bashboy last year and really enjoyed the experience and I'm really looking forward to riding there on Saturday. I might have another couple of rides at the meeting but I'm not sure yet.
