Nicky Henderson prepares star line-up in bid for trainers' title at Aintree
After surging past the £2 million prize-money mark for the season, in-form trainer Nicky Henderson is set to light up the battle for the trainers' title by fielding a star-studded team at Aintree.
Henderson – who was just £132,513 shy of reigning champion Paul Nicholls on Sunday morning – is targeting the two £250,000 Grade 1 hurdle prizes at the Grand National meeting, with Stayers' Hurdle fourth Champ expected to relish a flatter track in the Liverpool Hurdle and Epatante and Buveur D'Air forming a two-pronged assault in the Betway Aintree Hurdle.
Exciting novice hurdler Jonbon, who lost his unbeaten record to brilliant stablemate Constitution Hill at Cheltenham, has options over two miles and two-and-a-half miles while Henderson joked he had the Randox Grand National wrapped up with Caribean Boy.
