The resumption of British racing at Newcastle on Monday represents a "tremendous opportunity" for the sport to showcase itself to the public, according to BHA chief executive Nick Rust.

He said he believed the sport would be able to restart safely and had the plans in place to continue should lockdown regulations tighten again.

Rust, who was the subject of personal criticism and calls for him to stand down over the governing body's handling of racing's response to the pandemic, said he wanted to focus on the future now.
