Senior staff leave Hills following restructure

A number of senior members of William Hill staff have left the bookmaker as the company's online division undergoes a restructure by new chief executive Philip Bowcock.

Sportsbook director Stuart Weston, chief gaming product officer James Curwen – neither of whom will be replaced – and chief experience officer Juergen Reutter have all resigned from the company having only been confirmed in those positions last June.

A spokesman for William Hill said the three had decided to move on to other things.

Marketing strategy and customer service will now be under the control of the group's online division headed by managing director Crispin Nieboer.

As a result Cem Miralay, who was only promoted to the position of chief customer officer last October, is also leaving William Hill.

Nieboer has been given the go-ahead to hire another 200 technical staff, most of whom will be based in Krakow, Poland with others in Leeds and Gibraltar.

He said: "This marks another stage for William Hill Online. We are building on our track record over the last 12 months in tech delivery by further expanding our development capacity.

"Online will own the end-to-end customer experience for the first time as we move further towards our goal of a unique, personalised experience for customers however they choose to use our products."

William Hill are due to issue a trading update for the 17 weeks to April 25 on May 9.
