Ryan Moore is rated the world's top Flat jockey based on a new set of global rankings launched on Wednesday.

Moore heads the first list of TRC Global Rankings, which are based on a formula that has Racing Post Ratings (RPRs) as a key element, by a clear margin.

Frankie Dettori sits in second spot and Australia's Hugh Bowman third in a top ten which boasts a strong European presence with Christophe Soumillon fourth, Pat Smullen ninth and William Buick tenth. Javier Castellano is the leading jockey in the US, according to the new system.
