Ryan Moore’s return to race-riding could be imminent, with the three-time champion jockey understood to be fit following an injury-enforced layoff.

Moore has not ridden this month, writing in his Betfair blog after a successful Glorious Goodwood, during which he limped when walking: “As has been obvious for a while now I've been a bit sore. After seeing a specialist it has been decided I’m going to rest and give the injury time to heal 100 per cent.

“It wasn't affecting my riding, but after Goodwood - I had my most recent ride on Alice Springs in the Rothschild - it was clear the best thing to do was to give it time to heal properly.”
