Miss Amulet out to leave Irish 1,000 Guineas run behind in Commonwealth Cup
Miss Amulet has already exceeded all expectations, having cost just £7,500 as a yearling, and now she will bid to prove herself as the star sprinter of her generation at Royal Ascot, with Ken Condon targeting a tilt at the Commonwealth Cup.
Racing Post Ratings of 58 and 66 from her first two starts hardly suggested a significant future lay ahead, but the admirable filly never stopped improving last season and ended up landing the Group 2 Lowther Stakes before placing in the Cheveley Park and Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.
Heavy ground scuppered hopes of a Classic triumph at the Curragh last weekend – when she finished down the field in the Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas – and a return to six furlongs is now on the cards for the general 25-1 chance for Ascot's premier three-year-old sprinting prize.
