Mishriff gets go-ahead for tantalising Vadeni rematch in Irish Champion Stakes
Globetrotting star Mishriff will head to Leopardstown for a rematch with his Coral-Eclipse conqueror Vadeni in the Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes on Saturday week, his connections revealed on Thursday.
The Leopardstown showpiece could mark a farewell appearance in Europe for John and Thady Gosden’s money-spinner, whose final assignment before retiring to stud in 2023 is likely to be at the Breeders’ Cup.
The absence of Baaeed from the Irish Champion Stakes as he pursues a possible tilt at the Arc has helped open the way for Mishriff to head to the €1 million contest, which has been the long-term target for Vadeni.
